Adam Gordon offers baroque trumpet
recitals and master classes to colleges and universities.
recitals and master classes to colleges and universities.
Most students tend to only learn a few pieces on piccolo trumpet and that comprises their baroque music experience while in college. In Adam's master classes he and the students dive deeper into the baroque trumpet repertoire than just the Purcell Trumpet Sonata and the Handel Suite. His intent is to educate students on the vast amount of baroque trumpet music that has, up to now, just been discovered by music scholars in music libraries, and to head out into the world as baroque trumpet ambassadors themselves no matter where they land after they leave college.

Adam with Baylor University master class participants.
It has been our great fortune to host Adam on numerous occasions at Baylor University. His 30+ years of performance experience on the instrument and his gifts as a teacher serve him well as he ably demystifies and demonstrates the fundamentals of this challenging instrument. Adam is able to provide a logical, systematic course of study with regard to practice routines and solo repertoire. His recital performances are artistic demonstrations of the beauty of this often misunderstood instrument."

Even after two months, the students and faculty are still talking about our experience
with Adam Gordon here at Luther College.
His master class was insightful and succinct, addressing very practical scenarios inherent to the life of a professional musician. Adam's baroque trumpet recital personified a rare and intriguing opportunity not often accessible to the average college student. I was elated that my students took to the instrument and its repertoire with such exuberance. His performance and teaching has truly inspired me to establish the baroque trumpet as a mainstay of our curriculum in the future. I am so very pleased that the student musicians here at Luther could benefit from Adam's expertise, as well as his warm, engaging personality."

We had Adam Gordon at the University of Texas at Tyler School of Performing Arts for a masterclass and recital. He did a fantastic job coaching on 'The Trumpet Shall Sound', Purcell Sonata, and Ablassen Fanfare. His guest recital was nuanced and full of style.
And at the 2022 International Trumpet Guild conference performing with
baroque trumpet virtuoso Friedemann Immer's trumpet ensemble:
"Fantastic job today! Enjoyed your clarion tone which projected well!"
